Dr. Steve Simpson completed a Bachelor of Science from Hardin-Simmons University, Master of Science from East Texas State University, and Doctorate of Education from ETSU. He has served in multiple roles at Tarleton State University including Regents Professor, Director of the Athletic Training Program, and Chair of the Department of Kinesiology. In addition, he served in the Department of Athletics as Head Athletic Trainer and Associate Athletic Director of Sports Medicine. Simpson is a member of the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association and Tarleton State University Athletic Hall of Fame. He served as Athletic Trainer with the United States Olympic Committee Sports Medicine at the Olympic Training Center, Olympic Sports Festivals, and the Pan American Games, as well as the Lone Star and Big 12 athletic conference’s championship events. Simpson has traveled the world to educate students and provide healthcare for athletes. Throughout his career in education and athletics, he has seen a decline in the moral character of athletes, coaches, parents, and others. Dr. Simpson is currently involved in research and the development and delivery of programming to address this issue at all levels of sport.
Nyla has earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and is now a 2nd year Graduate assistant at Tarleton State University studying Exercise Science. She is a track athlete, as well, and has competed for over 16 years of her life. Her track journey has led her to be seen by Tarleton and awarded Nyla the opportunity to compete for the Texan collegiate team. As an athlete she understands the importance of good character and chasing dreams at all levels; that is why she has decided to spread the message of morality and positivity to the sporting world. Nyla has always loved sports and after she graduates, she aspires to be an influential figure in the sporting world.
Ryan has earned his bachelor's degree in sport management from Tarleton State University. He is entering his 2nd semester as a Graduate Assistant for Team Excel. Ryan is studying Sport Administration in Graduate School. After he has finished school he plans to pursue a career in the professional sports industry. Through Ryan's extensive sports experience he has understood the need for a positive impact for athletes wanting to compete. When Ryan graduates and starts his career he continues to spread positive messages and help to continue to make the world of sport great.
